About the role

We are looking for a Historian & Archives Manager (maternity cover), you would be responsible for safeguarding, managing, and activating A.P. Moller - Maersk's corporate memory. This includes overseeing both physical and digital archives, ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of historical records and corporate knowledge, while transforming heritage assets into business-relevant insights, content, and strategic value. Key Responsibilities Manage and develop Maersk's physical and digital archives, covering historical records, photographs, publications, and artefacts dating back to the company's origins. Maintain archival governance, information architecture, metadata standards, retention policies, classification frameworks, and quality controls to ensure reliable and compliant management of historical information. Lead and support the implementation, migration, and continuous improvement of archive and records management systems, including data mapping, data cleansing, metadata enrichment, taxonomy development, and validation of migrated content. Drive digital transformation initiatives within archives and heritage management, evaluating and adopting new technologies that improve discoverability, scalability, preservation, and user experience. Explore and apply AI-enabled solutions to improve knowledge retrieval, semantic search, content discovery, metadata generation, and access to trusted historical information across the organization. Conduct historical research and act as a trusted advisor on Maersk's history, supporting communications, branding, media engagement, customer activities, internal communications, legal requests, and strategic projects. Develop and advise on heritage-based storytelling that strengthens brand reputation, reinforces strategic messages, and connects Maersk's history with its future ambitions.
